Michelle Childs Beedle

 

beedleMichelle Childs Beedle is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS).  She is a seasoned performer and has had many achievements in theatre, radio and television.

Michelle began performing at the early age of three.  During the 8thgrade, her passion for singing and love of music went to a new level.  She began voice lessons with Julie Cato, former choral director at Fort Osage High, and soon transitioned to Music Arts Institute under the instruction of Millicent Daugherty.

After graduating from high school, she continued to study voice at the University of North Carolina with Barbara Ann Peters and made her college debut as the Soprano in Mozart’s Coronation Mass.  Michelle finished the last two years of her music education under the teaching of Rebecca Sherburn at University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance.

During her college studies, Michelle taught private voice lessons and studied vocal pedagogy.  She has directed children’s choir and taught music for grades K-10.  Michelle has over 10 years of teaching experience, 5 of those in a private studio setting, and her students have received musical leads, All-District recognition and I ratings at district and state competition.

In 2003, she competed in a radio sponsored competition called American Icon and as a finalist, was offered her own radio show in Kansas City, the nation’s 29th broadcasting market.  For 2 years, That Girl Michelle hosted That Show on Cutting Edge Christian Radio 1030 the Light.  Michelle jumped at the opportunity to sing back-up vocals on the Steve and Kathy Show in 2006 and later became a regular cast member on this Telly® and Emmy® Award-winning show. Michelle has recently expanded her experience to include film projects. She had an appearance in the short film Change For a Dollarwhich is currently doing a tour of several film festivals in the U.S. Michelle has had roles in three feature legnth films in 2010: The Freedom of Silence ; The Pascal Sign which premiered in St. Louis in December of 2010; and Three Blind Saints, a SAG film, that will premiere in October of 2011. In the spring of 2011, Michelle sang at several Kansas City venues with former Temptations member, Ron Wilson.

Michelle endeavors to share her passion and knowledge with aspiring musicians and to foster the love of music  and performance through academic study and training.
