Holly Watson is a pianist and flutist, as well as a private instructor and accompanist in the Kansas City area.
She earned a Masters of Arts in Piano Pedagogy from the University of Central Missouri in 2011. Holly completed her undergraduate work at Wheaton College in 2006, where she earned a Bachelors of Music in Piano Performance, with summa cum laude honors. While attending UCM, she studied piano with Dr. Mia Hynes, and taught as a piano graduate assistant from 2009-2011. In the spring of 2010, she performed Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No.2 with the UCM symphony as the annual concerto competition winner. She studied piano with Dr. Karin Edwards and flute with Dr. Jenni Brown at Wheaton College. Her other piano teachers include: Mr. Richard Cass, Dr. Althea Klein, and Dr. Karen Kushner.
Holly has played flute and piccolo with the Warrensburg Community Band, Northland Symphony Orchestra, and Heritage Philharmonic. Holly has performed as an accompanist at several churches in the Kansas City area and for voice and instrumental students at UCM. She is a licensed and certified teacher for Musikgarten, an early childhood music program designed for parents and children from birth to age nine. She taught elementary music at Oxford Park Academy in 2006-07 and Plaza Heights Christian Academy from 2006-2009.
