Anna O’Renick, soprano, has grown up immersed in Music Arts Institute and the music community of the KC Metro area.

Growing up, Anna was a member of the Young MAIsterSingers and also took voice and piano lessons at MAI.

Anna then went on to pursue her Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Music Performance and Choral Music Education at the University of Missouri Kansas City–Conservatory.

While at the UMKC Conservatory of Music, Anna studied voice under Doctor Maria Kanyova. She also performed in operas, many studio recitals, and choir concerts at UMKC. She graduated in May of 2020 and is currently working on her Masters in Music Education through the University of Missouri.

Anna wears many hats professionally. She is in her third year as the general music teacher at Blue Ridge Elementary in the Raytown School District. She is also the assistant director of the Young MAIsterSingers children’s choir at The Music Arts Institute. In addition to the choir, Anna teaches private voice lessons at MAI.

Anna qualified for state all four years of high school and was selected for All State her senior year. These experiences allow Anna to help her students navigate the process of music contests and auditions. Anna is known for being an encourager, and will devote herself endlessly to the success of her students. Anna is also known for being a trouble shooter and will work tenaciously to ensure her students are singing their best and their healthiest.

Anna believes that every student has a wonderful voice inside of them and works to reveal the grandness of their natural voices. Her philosophy focuses on communication, relationship building and giving every student a chance to explore their talent and shine. Anna’s students would describe her as energetic, determined, kind, honest and talented. Her students have been very successful in making honor choirs and receiving excellent ratings at contest!

Anna is very passionate about music, and passionate about educating and inspiring well rounded musicians who can become the teachers and performers of tomorrow!
