Ensembles
Performing ensembles at Music/Arts Institute provide a unique, positive experience to help young artists expand their horizons. From choral groups for children in 3rd through 8th grades, and a high school chamber choir, to instrumental jazz and harp ensembles. Ensembles are led by talented professional musicians who are committed to individual growth and group excellence. Students can audition to participate in ensembles based on available openings and willingness to commit to practice and performance schedules. Ensembles are formed for each academic year, starting in September and continuing through May and perform across Kansas City at great venues and events.

Young MAIsterSingers
The Young MAIster Singers have a long history of inspiring young singers to pursue their love of music and vocal performance. Open to students by audition in grades 3 through 8, the group performs regularly across Kansas City, collaborating with local universities and professional musical groups. Past performances include events at the world-renowned Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, singing the national anthem at professional sporting events and performing at seasonal shows to highlight and support the arts in Kansas City.
Chamber Choir
The Chamber Choir is a select group of high school students looking to expand their voice training and performance experience. Under the direction of leading choral directors, the Chamber Choir rehearses and performs at events and venues across the city. With members coming together from high schools across the metro, it provides a true honors choir experience that inspires and challenges young artists to excel.
Allegro Harp Ensemble
The Allegro Harp Ensemble provides a unique musical experience for young artists exploring a classical instrument that is both challenging and rewarding to master. Taught by an accomplished instructor, the Allegro Ensemble performs at events and venues in the community to showcase their skills and share the gift of music with others.
MAI Jazz Ensemble
The MAI Jazz Ensemble gives young artists an opportunity to expand their musical horizons, learning and performing jazz classics that tap into the rich heritage of Kansas City’s jazz scene. With instruction from professional jazz musicians, the group learns the art of performing and improvisational soloing - sharing their music at venues in the community.
Drum Ensemble
The Drum Ensemble is a world beat percussion group that brings rhythm to life teaching hand drumming skills, group performance and soloing techniques. The group is led by professional instructors who share their love of percussion instruments and native rhythms.
