Abby Foehrkolb

Abby Foehrkolb is a percussion performer and educator, currently pursuing her Master of Music degree in percussion performance at the UMKC conservatory. At UMKC, Abby serves as the Percussion Teaching Assistant.

As the Percussion Teaching Assistant, she teaches a percussion methods course as well as non-major private lessons in the conservatory. Abby received her Bachelor of Music in percussion performance at DePauw University in 2021, where she was recognized as the Van Denman Thompson Award recipient and delivered the valedictory speech for the School of Music. At DePauw, Abby was also a member of the music honor society Pi Kappa Lambda, made the Dean’s List every semester, and graduated Summa Cum Laude.

While at DePauw, Abby co-founded and served as president of the DePauw Contemporary Ensemble. She also led the inaugural Art Walk festival which now annually celebrates DePauw student and faculty art across disciplines.

Abby has played at PASIC as part of the 2019 Intercollegiate All-Star Percussion Ensemble, and she has also played as a soloist with the DePauw Symphony Orchestra after winning the 2019 DePauw Concerto Competition.

Abby has also performed as a substitute with the Topeka Symphony Orchestra, premiered works at the Yarn/Wire Institute, and played as a section percussionist with the Indiana Intercollegiate Honor Band.
