Dana Mengel

Dana has over 1,000 sacred choral pieces published nationally and internationally from 1990 to 2010.

In recent years, he has turned his efforts to composing for his first love - the strings.

Those efforts resulted in music inspired by the artistry of George Caleb Bingham which was included in a documentary about the American artist.

Dana also embarked on a lengthy composition for strings and percussion - The Oregon Trail Suite – portions which have been performed by the Centropolis String ensemble which Dana leads.

Dana’s music is very personal, deeply felt and affected by place, time, history and personal relationship.
