Molly Clemons Multipurpose Room Dedication
Following the MAI Honors Recital on November 11, 2023, a small event was held to dedicate the new Molly Clemons Multipurpose Room. Co-Executive Directory Molly Clemons passed away unexpectedly on September 29, 2022 after many years of service to MAI alongside husband Ron Clemons, who remains Executive Director.
Education Director Cynthia Tiller and Board Members Bruce Dickerson, Liz McClure, and Christie Geier-Pratt celebrated Clemons’ life and contributions to MAI and the surrounding community. Members of Clemons’ family attended, and the event was emceed by Board Member Dick Wilson.
Performances by students Enoch Allred and Cache Dalley were musical highlights, and instructor Dana Mengel and his string quartet performed pieces from Mengel’s “Oregon Trail Suites”. Refreshments were provided by Board Members Christie Geier-Pratt and Kristie Agee.
The remodel of the former kitchen will allow MAI to utilize the space for Board meetings, special events, and as a studio for private lessons. The effort to remodel the space was led by Facilities Manager Steve Fry, and was made possible by generous donations from the Beaudoin Family Foundation, The Eugene Cable Trust Fund, and Tim and Christie Geier-Pratt.
